Ešte väčší pokoj, než ste čakali

V prípade, že vás pochytí túžba po tichu, určite odporúčame Horský park, vzdialený od centra mesta len niekoľko minút, alebo lesopark, kde sa môžete nechať odviezť lanovkou medzi Železnou studničkou a Kamzíkom. Ak budete mať šťastie a Bratislava vás privíta v bielom odeve, dajte sa na Kolibe prehovoriť na sánkovačku. Ak vám stačí niečo decentnejšie, využite útulné zátišia Sadu Janka Kráľa, ktorý je od centra len na skok.

Jarovce – Kittsee: Beide Grenzdörfer haben ihre Seltsamkeiten

Da unsere Ziele hauptsächlich Wien, Schwechat oder Bratislava sind, bleiben diese beiden Dörfer unbemerkt.

Jarovce entstand zweimal

Das Leben in der Vergangenheit war schwierig. Krankheiten und Kämpfe führten dazu, dass einige Dörfer völlig erloschen sind.

Die erste schriftliche Erwähnung dieses Dorfes stammt aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Die Liste von 1208 erwähnt das Dorf Ban, das im Gebiet des heutigen Jarovce lag. Die große Pestepidemie im 15. Jahrhundert, der erschöpfende Kampf zwischen Matthew Corvinus und dem deutschen Kaiser Friedrich III. war für das Dorf verheerend, und in dieser Zeit ist das Dorf wahrscheinlich ausgestorben. Das heutige Jarovce wurde im 16. Jahrhundert von Kroaten gegründet. Man kann sagen, dass das Dorf ein zweites Mal gegründet wurde.

In Jarovce gibt es nur zwei Monumente, die unter Nationalem Denkmalschutz stehen. Die erste ist die barocke römisch-katholische Kirche von St. Nikolaus von 1764 bis 1765. Die zweite ist eine Fasanerie, die hauptsächlich aufgrund des wertvollen historischen Grüns erhalten ist.

Nummer zwei finden wir auch im Zusammenhang mit der Gründung der Jarovce-Kirche

Es gibt zwei verschiedene Versionen ihrer Fundamente. Die Kirche stammt aus der zweiten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts. Laut der ersten Version begannen die städtischen Bürger diese Kirche zu bauen. Die zweite Version besagt, dass Nikolaus Esterházy die Kirche für die hiesigen Leute bauen ließ. Leider wurden keine Datensätze gefunden, die die Wahrheit einer dieser beiden Varianten belegen könnten.

Esterházy in Kittsee

Seit 1670 wurde das Gebiet unter der Herrschaft vom Fürsten Esterházy regiert. Nach Ende des Ersten Weltkrieges wurde es Österreich zugesprochen. Der abgetrennte Teil ist heute ein Teil des Stadtteiles von Bratislava, Petržalka, und trägt den slowakischen Namen Kopčany.
Zu den bedeutenden historischen Monumenten der Gemeinde Kittsee zählt das Neue Schloss. Das Renaissance-Gebäude vom 17. Jahrhundert - Neues Schloss - wurde von Paul Anton Fürst Esterházy zum Barockstil umgebaut. Später erhielt die Gemeinde das Schloss in ihren Besitz und wurde im Grunde renoviert. Dann wurde hier das ethnographische Museum mit einer umfangreichen Ausstellung der Volkskultur eröffnet.

Kittsee ist heute die Heimat vieler Slowaken

Kittsee ist eine Gemeinde in Burgenland - eines von den neun österreichischen Bundesländern. Diese befindet sich direkt an der Grenze zur Slowakei. Nach dem Fall des „Eisernen Vorhangs“ fanden hier viele Slowaken ihre Heimat. Somit hat der örtliche Kindergarten eine Besonderheit. Nach dem Fall des Kommunismus betreut man hier auch Kinder mit slowakischer Muttersprache. Der Kindergarten hat einen multikulturellen Charakter erhalten. Er hat einen 76 prozentigen Anteil der Kinder mit slowakischer Muttersprache.

Schoko-Csárda in Kittsee

Die Firma „Hauswirth“ gehört zu den größten österreichischen Herstellern von Schokoprodukten. Sie wurde von Franz Hauswirth im Jahre 1949 als Konditorei in Wien gegründet. Wegen des stetigen Wachstums benötigte die Firma neue, größere Räume. So am Anfang der 60er Jahre wurde der Betrieb ins Burgenland, in die Heimatgemeine von Franz Hauswirth, nach Kittsee verlegt. Nach der Übernahme des Betriebes durch seinen Sohn, Franz Hauswirth, jun., wurden am Standort Kittsee weitreichende Investitionen in neue Technologien getätigt. Heutigentags wird der Betrieb von den Brüdern Roman und Peter Hauswirth in der dritten Generation geführt.

Jarovce – Kittsee: Sights of the border crossing

We transfer dozens of passengers through it every day in the limousines of Bratislava Airport Taxi. As Vienna, Bratislava or Schwechat is our target destination in most of the cases, there are only a few who would think about the fact that also the Jarovce – Kittsee border crossing has its curiosities.

Jarovce was established twice

Although it sounds weird, this is the fact. There was a village on the territory of today´s Jarovce at the beginning of the 13th century. Actually, its name is mentioned in the deed from 1208: Ban. However, it disappeared in the 15th century. It happened due to the fights between the troops of Matthias Corvinus and the German Emperor Frederick III on one hand side and the plague epidemic on the other side. However, on the place where not a living soul was left, the Croatians appeared in the first half of the 16th century and they set up a new village. And thus Jarovce was established for the second time.

The establishment of the church in Jarovce has also two versions

The church that you will find in Jarovce in the vicinity of the mourning house is the oldest on the territory of Petržalka. If you ask the residents about how it was created, some of them would possibly say that it was built by the village people in the second half of the 18th century. Some of them would possibly start telling a story about Count Zichy that it happened once that he spotted local people gathered around the chapel on the cemetery and when he learned that that was their church, he expressed his surprise to the owner of this territory, Count Eszterházy. That encouraged Count Eszterházy to have a new church built for the local people. Some people would possibly tell both stories in parallel. Whatever the case may be, there is no documentary evidence preserved to any of the versions.

The Eszterházy family in Kittsee

While Count Nikolaus Esterházy took care about the church in Jarovce, Prince Paul Eszterházy was active in Kittsee. Because it was thanks to him that the local baroque castle that was built in the 17th century got its current appearance. One century later Paul told to himself that although the building was nice, it would be good anyway to have some reconstruction works done on it. Thus Kittsee got an attraction in its centre that is admired to these days.

Kittsee is a record holder also thanks to the Slovaks

Whilst Jarovce has approx. 2300 inhabitants, Kittsee has been able to maintain its status of the fastest growing municipality in Austria for several years already. All this is happening also thanks to the interest that the Slovaks show in Kittsee. Whilst there were 2176 people living in the village in 2011, currently there are approximately 3100 inhabitants. And the Slovaks make up nearly half of this number. It is also worth mentioning that the kindergarten in the village is the largest in Burgenland and the mother tongue of the majority of the children is the Slovak language.

Schoko-Csárda that is hard to resist

The chocolate lovers should definitely not connect the visit to Kittsee with fast transfer to Schwechat, Vienna or Bratislava. Because a chocolate factory lead by the third generation of the family Hauswirth has a seat in the village. This originally Viennese confectionery established in 1949 has gradually developed in the extent that Franz Hauswirth decided to move it to his native village. His son took care about making the chocolate delicacies famous not only in Austria, but all around Europe, America and in Australia. Also the Schoko-Csárda company store has its seat in Kittsee, for the visit of which you would definitely need more time than it takes our limousines to take you from Vienna to Bratislava.

Jarovce – Kittsee: Pozoruhodnosti hraničného priechodu

Jarovce vznikli dvakrát

Znie to síce čudne, ale je to tak. Na území dnešných Jaroviec existovala obec už začiatkom 13. storočia. V listine z roku 1208 sa dokonca spomína jej meno: Ban. V 15. storočí však zanikla. Spôsobili to jednak boje medzi vojskami Mateja Korvína a nemeckého cisára Fridricha III. a jednak morová epidémia. Tam, kde nezostalo ani živej duše, sa však v prvej polovici 16. storočia objavili Chorváti a založili novú obec. A tak vznikli Jarovce po druhý raz.

Aj vznik kostola v Jarovciach má dve verzie

Kostol, ktorý v Jarovciach nájdete blízko domu smútku, je najstarší v petržalskej oblasti. Keby ste sa miestnych opýtali, ako vznikol, jedni by vám možno tvrdili, že ho postavili obyvatelia obce v druhej polovici 18. storočia. Druhí by vám zasa rozpovedali príbeh o grófovi Zichym, že raz zbadal miestnych ľudí zhromaždených okolo kaplnky na cintoríne a keď sa dozvedel, že je to ich kostol, prejavil svoje prekvapenie majiteľovi tejto oblasti grófovi Eszterházymu. To grófa Eszterházyho podnietilo k tomu, aby dal miestnym postaviť kostol nový. Niekto by vám možno porozprával obe verzie naraz. Isté však je, že ani k jednej, ani k druhej nejestvujú písomné dôkazy.

Eszterházyovci v Kittsee

Kým gróf Mikuláš Esterházy sa v Jarovciach postaral o kostol, knieža Pavol Eszterházy zaúradoval v Kittsee. Vďaka nemu totiž tamojší barokový zámok, ktorý postavili v 17. storočí, dostal súčasnú podobu. Pavol si o jedno storočie neskôr povedal, že objekt je síce fajn, ale predsa len by sa mu zišla rekonštrukcia. Tak získalo Kittsee vo svojom centre pamätihodnosť, ktorá sa teší obdivu dodnes.

Kittsee je rekordmanom aj vďaka Slovákom

Kým Jarovce majú okolo 2300 obyvateľov, Kittsee si už niekoľko rokov udržiava status najrýchlejšie rastúcej obce v Rakúsku. A to aj vďaka záujmu, ktorý o Kittsee prejavujú Slováci. Zatiaľčo v roku 2011 žilo v obci 2176 obyvateľov, v súčasnosti je ich už okolo 3100. Z toho takmer polovicu tvoria Slováci. Za povšimnutie stojí, že materská škola v obci je najväčšou v Burgenlande a rodným jazykom väčšiny detí je slovenčina.

Pôvodne viedenská cukráreň založená v roku 1949 sa postupne rozrástla natoľko, že sa Franz Hauswirth rozhodol presťahovať ju do svojej rodnej obce. Jeho syn sa zasa postaral o to, aby sa čokoládové dobroty preslávili nielen v Rakúsku, ale aj v celej Európe, Amerike a v Austrálii. V Kittsee sídli aj podniková predajňa Schoko-Csárda, na ktorú by ste určite potrebovali viac času, než stačí našim limuzínam, aby vás dopravili z Viedne do Bratislavy.

Town Hall Square

Thanks to thousands of small lights, Rathausplatz changes every year to a magical country with a heady smell of the Christmas punch, candied fruits, cinnamon, mulled wine, cotton candy or chestnuts. Christmas village on the Mary Theresa Square

Kúzlo predvianočnej Viedne

Schönbrunn

Tým, čo si potrpia na mimoriadnu dávku romantiky, vrelo odporúčame Ehrenhof pred zámkom Schönbrunn. Bratislava castle

You can reach the height of eighty metres in forty-five seconds with an elevator and thanks to that you can observe not only numerous sights of the city but, in case of ideal weather conditions, also the panorama within the distance of hundred kilometres. You can experience another fascinating view from the highest tower in Slovakia – the TV mast on Kamzík hill is 635 metres high and you can get refreshment in form of specialties from seasonal ingredients in the restaurant with a viewing platform.

Relax in green
